Tour of the Tropics

The Tour of the Tropics festival is a cycling, food and wine festival for pro and amateur cyclists and families. The festival spans eight days, starting with the Ride for Isabel Gran Fondo (Yarrabah to Gordonvale). Midweek will welcome their track and social events, followed by the grand finale – The Tour of the Tropics three-day tour runs from Friday 8 July – Sunday 10 July.

Mareeba Rodeo and Festival

The 2-week festival will culminate with a one-day ABCRA affiliated rodeo, featuring the finals and the State-Of-Origin. Presenting top-level competition and entertainment, the event gives spectators plenty to watch. Event offerings include all the usual rodeo events such as bull rides, saddle bronc, steer wrestling, ladies and junior events, the Agricultural Show, Downtown Parade, Queen Competition, Cowpokes and Garden Awards. NQ’s Rock’n Country 2022

This year’s NQ’s Rock’n Country is a three-day country music festival showcasing over 40 local and national country music artists. Bring your camp chairs and picnic blankets and settle in for a big weekend. Onsite camping is available for three day pass holders, with camping opening on Thursday 18th August. Campers also have access to the campers only After Party, so the party will continue after the main stage closes. The festival is proudly raising funds for Variety – the Children’s Charity, with a goal of $100,000 to be raised. Curley Cattle Transport Elite Rodeo

Great Barrier Reef Ocean Swim Series – The 2022 Relay

The Great Barrier Reef Ocean Swim Series consists of two events. Swimmers are transferred out to the reef by the Quicksilver ferries, leaving Cairns at 8.30am in the morning. The first swim takes place at Moore Reef, approximately 50 kilometres off the Cairns coastline, and is a 1500 metre course marked out by buoys. The second event is a relay race, starting at Agincourt Reef, 70 kilometres off Port Douglas. Due to tide and weather considerations, confirm the times closer to the date by checking the website. Post swims there will be lunch, snorkelling opportunities, scuba diving, and underwater viewing with a Semi Submarine. This is a full day on the reef experience and all swimmers will receive extensive gift packs, full complimentary photography of the swim, and options to purchase snorkelling and scuba shots later on.

Birdsville Races

Wallaby Creek Festival

Savannah in the Round

Savannah in the Round is Tropical North Queensland’s very own music and camping festival, taking place at the Mareeba Rodeo Arena. Babinda Harvest Festival

This full day of events begins with the Traders Day Competition at 8.00am and includes the Grand Street Parade, festivities
and the Tractor Pull afterwards at the Babinda Showgrounds. With plenty of food stalls, children’s entertainment, market stalls, live entertainment and a bar, the whole family can enjoy the day. There’s a firework display and cane burning at 8.30pm, and the bands play until midnight.

Oktoberfest Cairns
