Create your Own Detective Writing Workshop with Kate Temple

April 3, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm AEST

Create your own detective! The Underdogs are on the case in this writing workshop for kids in grades 3-6

A very serious crime has taken place in Dogtown, SOMEONE HAS STOLEN ALL THE TENNIS BALLS just before the Grand Slam. Do you love graphic novels and detective stories? Then join Kate Temple as she shows you what it takes to create your own detective and invent your own ridiculous high-tech detective gadgets to help you crack the case, lots of silly word play and terrible dog puns. It’s going to be PAWsome!

This session is based on Kate Temple’s hit graphic novel series The Underdogs.

Kate Temple is an internationally awarded children’s authors of over 20 books for kids. Kate writes all kinds of books from graphic novels like The Underdogs, to picture books like the best-selling Bin Chicken series as well as fantasy for Middle Grade readers like The Dangerous Business of being Trilby Moffat. Kate lives in Sydney with her writing partner Jol and her two kids. When she is not writing books Kate pretends to play the tuba and eat cake… she doesn’t pretend to eat cake though… she actually eats it.

This writing workshop is brought to you as part of the Burdekin Library’s Sweet Days, Hot Writes Short Story Competition.
